Georges Damonte has been in business with the AZIMUT GRANDE SHIPYARD on several occasions. He personally knows the site manager.
Azimut Yachts was born in 1969, when the young university student Paolo Vitelli founded Azimut Srl and started chartering sailboats.
In 1970, prestigious yachting brands chose Azimut to distribute their boats in Italy.
In 1985 Azimut acquired Benetti. This historic shipyard, based in Viareggio, had been building boats since 1873 and designed the concept of the superyacht.
Azimut was now able to build his own yachts, defining a new style and industrial standards that would revolutionize the shipbuilding industry.
